What I did to kick cancer’s ass in about 3 months – TWICE!
I have healed my breast cancer without surgery (but with chemo) twice in the last 5 years. I think the cancer came back bc I just abandoned all treatment the second I got a clear scan the first time (I had so much other stuff going on).
The first time I beat breast cancer without surgery was 2021-22. After the doctors suggested a double mastectomy for stage 2 (B?), I said no thank you, and paused for about 6 months to find integrative oncologists in the area and work on radical diet changes, and figuring out what was most important for treatment. I decided that for me, it made sense to do chemo as an anchor, but to do other things to support my body more effectively, esp since chemo is really tough on the body. My cancer was gone in about 3 months – besides chemo, I took the prescribed levothyroxine (thyroid medication), took metformin and did keto or vegan diet – no grains, no dairy, no meat, no processed foods to work on starving the cancer cells, I did intravenous vitamin C infusions twice a week- 50 g- for therapeutic levels that basically create oxygenated environment going straight into cells (cancer cells kill themselves from it and regular cells thrive, plus it’s a great boost for the immune system anyway), and I took medical marijuana – Rick Simpson Oil (RSO), both internally and topically on the open wound – I know it helped because midway scans showed the cancer receding more quickly from the external wound site than any other location as it shrunk. With only these approaches, the cancer was gone in 3 months. The second time around, I was “smarter” about my approach- second time I believe they were calling it stage 4 bc it had ‘spread to about 20 lymph nodes with small nodes in and around my lungs. Not a problem. Anyway, January this year I noticed hard lumps in my neck and under arms, got an emergency room full CT scan due to an infection and referral to oncology, but again I delayed to get prepared, bc chemo without smart prep can kill a person, esp with multiple series’ of treatments. I took time to strategize and get my diet in reasonable line (living with my family…), time to figure out what supplements and other supports (including IVC and medical marijuana (which I use instead of their prescribed antinausea drugs to manage nausea AND be hungry. I literally GAINED weight on chemo – they’ve never seen that before! From my pre-chemo PET scan 5/12/26 to my ‘mid treatment scan on 7/29/26, all of the lung and lymph nodes that were showing 5/12/26 Resolved completely, and the huge breast lump is almost completely healed with very little, spotty lumps left (combined, it was at least 4″ in diameter and close to an inch). thick at the first scan). My strategy is multifaceted but I was mainly targeting primary body systems that were out of whack and supercharging certain types of body supportive vitamins and minerals. Body systems I targeted – metabolism/glucose processing/insulin resistance (w/metformin (I used Berberine -which is non-prescription- interchangeably with metformin twice a day), Immune system – 1. regular intravenous vitamin C 50 or 75 g (I found out how use a cheap non-prescription glucose monitor to check how my body was metabolizing different foods as well as the IVC ) 2. OBSCENE amounts of omega-3 (I used 12,500 IU a day, split btwn AM & PM) 3. OBSCENE Melatonin 500 mg 2x/day 4. Vitamin D3 AND Super K (1 pill for every 10,000 IU D3 (I’m taking the 50,000 IU meant for weekly use every day for now, and just supporting it with 2 pills Super K 5. Magnesium Glycinate, 350mg daily (eve), which I’m told improves the white blood cells’ ability to seek and destroy germs and 6. zinc picolinate (30mg daily in am) – I’m told it is crucial to support many cellular processes, including oxidative stress, apoptosis (cellular suicide of the cells we don’t want without bothering the cells we do want) and immune response. 6. Fisetin (2 pills once daily in the morning – I’m told it suppresses the cancer cell stages, prevents progression in cell cycle and cell growth and induces Apoptosis. 7. Gaia Turkey Tail Mushroom orLife Extension’s Mushroom Immune 1 pill in am and pm = 2,500mg dry mushrooms. 8. Vitamin E Annatto Tocotrienols 300 mg twice daily. 9. I also take HMB (hydroxy methyl butyric acid) 3,000mg a day, split between am and pm pills (this is something bodybuilders apparently use for ‘bulking up,’ but it seems to work well to stop the process of ‘body wasting that is so common with chemo. ) I take a total of 16 pills in the morning in about a minute with breakfast (that takes practice!) and another 8-9 pills in the evening with dinner or later snack. And I take a couple bottles of water to bed to stay as hydrated as possible which helps everything. And I take the 2 pills I’m not supposed to take with food in the middle of the night sometime – levothyroxine and serrapeptase (120,000 SPU) which flushes out dead cells – nobody wants the cancer reusing the parts of old cells to reform more cancer cells. No exercise during chemo, just focused on self care and getting enough to eat. 2 other things which are important parts of my ‘battle plan’ were mistletoe subcutaneous injections In belly fat or other fatty area every other day starting at 1 mg and gradually moving up to 50 mg maintenance (ordered and monitored thru an integrative oriented doctor (look for ‘integrative oncologist’ near you). My scan last week, bloodwork and last oncology visit (2 days ago 8/3/26) were lovely, my numbers for someone on chemo are “RIDICULOUSLY HEALTHY,” I knew I had to be focused positively, have good support and be generally relaxed (the medical marijuana also helps with this. I distracted and inspired myself with 1. projects like a super cool garden (whatever I was able to grow was good enough and I enjoyed it often 2. finding opportunities to enjoy helping other people in valuable ways 3. volunteering to regularly take care of my new grandbaby every week (really, any baby will do – the more endorphins you can get going in your body and move away from cortisol producing experiences or focus (anxiety, stress, frustration, judgment, etc), the more I think the body goes naturally in the direction of healing. Also, I’ve been doing a lot of therapy myself and with key people in my life, Reiki (energy work) and healing trauma or stress or pain that is stuck and unresolved and unreleased is a huge factor. Healing relationships, focusing more on gratitude and inspiring yourself than fear-causing thoughts, etc. The first time around I made the mistake of telling all relatives and friends that I had cancer and thought I would have support. not so. It was mostly stressful fearmongering and people telling me what they thought I should be doing. The 2nd time around, I told 10 people – my children, my husband and only the therapists and doctors that needed to know. No one else. I solidified boundaries and learned to say ‘no’ more. stuff like that. I also learned to work with the regular doctors in a way that they understood and give them appreciation, but still say no to what I did not want to do. I didn’t ask them IF I should do any other the other stuff that is outside of their bailiwick, I just brought a list showing what I was doing and the nurse put it in the computer, I barely discussed it with them this time. And I’m laughing (a bit confusedly) that the oncologist I saw 2 days ago “didn’t want to know” what I was doing. But my results speak for themselves. At least she said to me “whatever you’re doing, keep doing it…” That was lovely. If you want more info or support, I am working on putting together a presentation of what I did and the results I got. Stage 4 breast cancer, gone in 2.5 months, is pretty impressive. I wasn’t willing to be a statistic, just doing the one recommended one-thing-at a time (chemo or surgery, or radiation), which keeps things orderly for the oncologist and surgeons etc, but doesn’t really help me go for TOTAL HEALING and GREAT HEALTH. I also recommend don’t discuss your choices with anyone who may disagree – it’s stressful and unnecessary. This truly is a situation of ‘your body – your life – your choice’ I just had my PCP and my oncology team and my integrative doctor I regularly worked with. I’ve worked to figure out from each of them how I can understand my bloodwork, ONCO score, scans and other ways to help me have the power to both track what is happening in my body and make decisions I feel good about to move toward EXCELLENT health, understanding that the conventional doctors are only focused on gunning into action when there is disease, believe what they believe and get scared for me also, but I don’t have to buy into other peoples beliefs or fears, including from experts. I’m not a doctor and I can’t be responsible for anyone else’s choices, but if you are going for “STUPID HEALTHY” and you want help to understand how I decided what to include in my multi-layered approach or how to keep it simpler and maintainable for myself, please ask. I can certainly give you the protocols and ideas that were foundational to my choices and I have proven success note once, but twice!
When I Was Running Out of Options, I Found a Different Approach in Japan
In 2024, I was diagnosed with a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor MPNST, a rare and aggressive cancer. The tumor involved my sciatic nerve. I underwent complex surgery in Germany, followed by 33 radiotherapy sessions. Despite this, the disease returned only a few months later. I consulted doctors in Germany, Israel, the United States, Singapore, Russia and Thailand. I kept hearing variations of the same message: there were very few meaningful options left. Then I discovered a part of Japanese medicine that international patients rarely hear about. After my medical records were reviewed by Japanese doctors, they developed an individualized treatment program for me. During 2025, I received a combination of cellular immunotherapy and other personalized approaches, including modified natural killer cells, dendritic cells and immune-supporting regenerative therapies. My follow-up MRI and CT examinations in November 2025 and March 2026 showed no evidence of active disease. I remain under regular surveillance, and I understand that remission is not a guarantee of what happens next. But today I am alive, active and deeply grateful that I continued searching.
I am not a doctor, and I cannot say whether the treatment I received would be appropriate or effective for anyone else. I am also not here to advise people to abandon conventional oncology. Every decision must be made by a patient together with qualified physicians.
I joined this community to share what actually happened to me: how I found the doctors, how my case was evaluated, what treatments I received, what the process cost, and what international patients should realistically expect from treatment in Japan.
Which part would you like me to explain first?
1. How I found the Japanese doctors
2. What my individualized treatment involved
3. The practical process and cost of treatment in Japan

CBD, the Endocannabinoid System, and Immunotherapy: Could Cannabinoids Help Support Immune Balance During Cancer Treatment?
Cancer changes every aspect of life. A diagnosis often brings fear, uncertainty, and difficult decisions about surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, targeted therapy, and more recently, immunotherapy. While these treatments have transformed cancer care for many patients, they can also place tremendous stress on the body.
As researchers continue to explore how to improve cancer treatment outcomes, one biological system has received increasing scientific attention: the endocannabinoid system (ECS).
The ECS is a network of receptors, naturally produced cannabinoids (called endocannabinoids), and enzymes that help regulate many of the body’s most important functions—including inflammation, immune activity, pain perception, sleep, appetite, and cellular homeostasis.
CBD (cannabidiol) and carefully dosed THC interact with this system in different ways. Scientists are actively studying whether cannabinoid-based medicines may someday play a supportive role alongside conventional oncology treatments. While this research is still evolving, laboratory and animal studies have demonstrated intriguing anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects that deserve continued investigation.
The Endocannabinoid System: A Master Regulator of Balance
The endocannabinoid system helps maintain physiological balance throughout the body.
CB1 receptors are found primarily within the brain and nervous system, while CB2 receptors are abundant on immune cells and throughout the immune system.
These receptors help regulate:
Inflammatory signaling
Immune cell communication
Oxidative stress
Pain perception
Sleep quality
Appetite
Tissue repair
Overall homeostasis
Rather than simply “turning the immune system on or off,” the ECS appears to help coordinate appropriate immune responses.
Why Inflammation Matters During Cancer Care
Inflammation is a double-edged sword.
The immune system must recognize and destroy abnormal cells while avoiding unnecessary damage to healthy tissue. When inflammation becomes excessive, patients may experience pain, fatigue, digestive symptoms, skin irritation, or other inflammatory complications related either to cancer itself or to treatment.
Because of this delicate balance, researchers continue investigating therapies that may help regulate inflammatory pathways without broadly suppressing normal immune function.
CBD: A Natural Immunomodulator
Unlike medications that broadly suppress immune activity, CBD appears to influence multiple signaling pathways involved in immune regulation.
Preclinical research has demonstrated that CBD may:
Reduce production of certain pro-inflammatory cytokines
Influence immune cell signaling
Help regulate oxidative stress
Support antioxidant defenses
Affect macrophages, microglia, and other immune cells
Promote overall physiological homeostasis
Importantly, these findings come primarily from laboratory and animal studies. More well-designed clinical trials are needed to determine how these effects translate into cancer patients receiving modern immunotherapies.
Immunotherapy and the Need for Balance
Cancer immunotherapy works differently from chemotherapy.
Rather than attacking cancer cells directly, many immunotherapies help activate a patient’s own immune system to recognize and destroy malignant cells.
Immune checkpoint inhibitors have dramatically improved outcomes for some cancers, including melanoma, lung cancer, kidney cancer, and several others.
However, because these therapies stimulate immune activity, they can also lead to immune-related adverse events in some patients. These complications may involve the skin, gastrointestinal tract, lungs, liver, endocrine glands, or other organs.
Researchers are therefore interested in understanding how best to maintain immune balance during treatment while preserving the anti-cancer benefits of immunotherapy.
Could Cannabinoids Complement Immunotherapy?
This is one of the most exciting—and most carefully studied—questions in cannabinoid science.
Laboratory studies suggest cannabinoids may influence inflammation, oxidative stress, and immune signaling pathways that are relevant to cancer biology.
However, current human evidence is mixed.
Some observational studies have reported that cannabis use during immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy was associated with poorer clinical outcomes, while others have not found significant differences after accounting for disease severity and other factors. Because these studies are observational, they cannot determine cause and effect.
At present, there is no clinical consensus that CBD or THC enhances the effectiveness of immunotherapy, and major oncology organizations recommend that patients discuss cannabinoid use with their oncology team.
Researchers continue to investigate whether specific cannabinoid formulations, doses, timing, and cannabinoid profiles could eventually play supportive roles during cancer treatment.
The Potential Role of Microdose THC
THC is best known for its psychoactive effects, but at very low doses it may produce different experiences than higher-dose recreational use.
Many clinicians who incorporate medical cannabis into supportive care use a “start low and go slow” approach, gradually titrating carefully measured doses based on individual patient goals and tolerance.
Microdosing may allow some patients to explore potential benefits for symptom management while minimizing unwanted intoxication. Appropriate dosing should always be individualized and supervised by qualified healthcare professionals, particularly for patients undergoing active cancer treatment.
Whole-Plant Medicine and the Entourage Effect
Another area of active research is the so-called “entourage effect.”
Whole-plant extracts contain dozens of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other naturally occurring compounds that may interact differently than isolated CBD or THC alone.
Although more clinical research is needed, many investigators continue exploring whether full-spectrum cannabinoid preparations produce different biological effects than purified cannabinoids.
Product quality therefore matters.
Accurate labeling, third-party laboratory testing, contaminant screening, and consistent manufacturing practices are essential when selecting cannabinoid products—especially for medically complex patients.
Choosing High-Quality Medical Cannabis
Not every cannabis product is created with the same standards.
Patients should look for products that are:
Third-party laboratory tested
Screened for pesticides, heavy metals, microbial contamination, and residual solvents
Manufactured with consistent quality controls
Properly labeled for cannabinoid content
Supported by certificates of analysis
These quality measures become particularly important for individuals managing complex medical conditions.

How CBD and THC works in your body
Unlocking the Power of Cannabis: How CBD and THC Work in Your Body
For decades, cannabis has been shrouded in mystery, but recent research has shed light on the incredible potential of its two primary compounds: CBD and THC. These natural substances have been shown to have a profound impact on our bodies, offering new hope for those seeking alternative approaches to health and wellness.
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive compound that interacts with our body’s endocannabinoid system, which regulates a wide range of functions, including pain, mood, and inflammation. By binding to specific receptors, CBD can help reduce inflammation, alleviate anxiety and stress, and even promote healthy sleep patterns. On the other hand, THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the psychoactive compound responsible for the “high” associated with cannabis use. However, THC also has a range of medicinal benefits, including pain relief, appetite stimulation, and nausea reduction.
When CBD and THC work together in the body, they can produce a synergistic effect, enhancing each other’s benefits and minimizing side effects. This phenomenon, known as the “entourage effect,” is a key area of research, as scientists seek to understand the full potential of cannabis as a therapeutic agent. As we continue to unlock the secrets of CBD and THC, we may uncover new and innovative ways to harness the power of cannabis to improve our health and wellbeing.
