Chocolate Banana Pie

Ingredients
- ½ cup Cocoa powder
- ½ cup Sucanat
- 2 cup Almond milk, unsweetened, divided
- 8 tbsp. Organic cornstarch
- 2 medium Bananas, sliced
- 1 recipe Nut Pie Crust (https://commonsense-health.com/nutpiecrust/)
- ¼ cup Nuts, crushed
Instructions
- Prepare a Nut Pie Crust and keep separate. https://commonsense-health.com/nutpiecrust/
- Mix the cornstarch with 1 cup of almond milk and keep separate.
- In a saucepan, add cocoa, Sucanat, and the other cup almond milk. Bring to a boil.
- Add vanilla and cornstarch mixture. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Layer sliced bananas on bottom of prepared pie crust. Pour mixture over bananas and smooth the top. Sprinkle with crushed nuts.
- Refrigerate until firm and cold, about 2 hours.
Notes
12 ounces of semisweet (dairy-free) dark chocolate chips can be used in place of cocoa, sweetener, and the sweetener-cornstarch mixture.
